Southport Market is one of the easiest places in town to make a meal feel like part of the day out. From Victorian market hall to modern food destination
The original Southport Market opened in 1881. After a major fire in 1913, the building was reconstructed in the form familiar today in 1931. Its role has changed with the town: what was once a traditional place for meat, produce, clothing and household goods was relaunched as a food-and-drink market in July 2021.
The result keeps the character of a covered market hall while giving it a more social purpose.
